Reminders

• Please return the Highlights forms signed, even if you mark NO, our class can earn items for every form returned
• Please fill out and return the Field Trip form included in the folder this week.  It is due January 20^th with the money.

We have been reading about George Washington Carver. He helped farmers by encouraging them to grow sweet potatoes and peanuts.  At first, farmers were afraid to plant these crops because they were not very popular foods.  George Washington Carver came up with many uses for these foods including food recipes, soaps, shampoos, and many more.

            If you have any interesting foods you like to make with peanuts or sweet potatoes, we would love to taste them.  All students are welcome, but not required, to bring a food made from sweet potatoes or peanuts for us to taste.  The tasting party will be Friday, January 21^st at 2:15. Parents are welcome.

• Book Orders  I am sending one last Book order before Christmas.  Please send me a written note if you wish your order to be a Christmas gift for your child
• Tutoring Change  Reading Tutoring will now be Tuesday Morning at 7:20 and Math Tutoring  will now be Thursday morning at 7:20
• Please continue to practice your Act of Contrition

     I am sending a copy of the Ten Commandments.  Please study them with your child.  They should be very familiar with them by next Friday.

 You will also find a Baptism Page in your child’s folder.  Please help him/her fill it out.   Return it by next Wednesday.  You may also send pictures of your child’s baptism.  If your child has not been baptized, you may write me a note or share something else important your child has done in his/her church or family.

 Math-We working on 2-digit addition with borrowing/regrouping in Math.  Many students need a little extra help with this new concept.  I may ask your child to come to Math tutoring if they need help.
