Reminders

  • Please return the Highlights forms signed, even if you mark NO, our class can earn items for every form returned
  • Please fill out and return the Field Trip form included in the folder this week.  It is due January 20th with the money.

We have been reading about George Washington Carver. He helped farmers by encouraging them to grow sweet potatoes and peanuts.  At first, farmers were afraid to plant these crops because they were not very popular foods.  George Washington Carver came up with many uses for these foods including food recipes, soaps, shampoos, and many more.

If you have any interesting foods you like to make with peanuts or sweet potatoes, we would love to taste them.  All students are welcome, but not required, to bring a food made from sweet potatoes or peanuts for us to taste.  The tasting party will be Friday, January 21st at 2:15. Parents are welcome.
